Summary
Automation Alley (AA) was established by Oakland County, Michigan as a nonprofit
organization to promote the area's economic development. AA will promote exports
by (1) educating companies via: (a) existing Internet tools, (b) workshops by
staff of the Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank, and the
Export Assistance Center (EAC), (c) an "export toolbox"; (2) leading three trade
missions; and (3) supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises with: (a) EAC
counseling, (b) two new staff for trade mission coordination, and (c) monitoring
and evaluating results.
