Start Now to Prepare Your Application for a 2014 MDCP Award
Prepare your application for the 2014 competition. It should open up on or shortly after January 10, 2014. Use the announcement for the 2013 competition as your guide for preparing your 2014 application. A new announcement will be published for the 2014 competition but it should be substantially the same as the 2013 announcement.
Submission Deadline Not Yet Determined But Probably Will Be Late February
The deadline for submitting 2014 MDCP applications will not be determined until the announcement is published (probably on or after January 10). This would mean a due date of February 24 or later. As soon as the actual announcement and submission due dates are known, we will publish them on this website and on grants.gov. Until that time, the announcement on the home page is the most up-to-date news we have.
Announcement of Competitiona and Your Communication With ITA
ITA staff welcome your inquiries before and after the 2014 MDCP competition is announced. Please be aware that prior to the MDCP announcement ITA staff are encouraged to provide qualitative feedback on your application ideas and to suggest approaches, target markets, industries, etc. However, after the competition is announced and until the applications are due, ITA can still talk to you and refer you to resources, but can no longer offer opinions or serve as a sounding board.
National Export Initiative and Creating Jobs
It is estimated that a $200,000 increase in exports creates one U.S. job (See study on jobs and exports.) Accordingly, the National Export Initiative is an important effort to stimulate economic growth and broad-based prosperity.
Who from ITA Works with MDCP Award Winners?
In addition to MDCP Director Brad Hess, MDCP award winners will work with a team of ITA professionals who can help them accomplish project goals. You can search for likely ITA team members using the directories on line 4 of Step-by-Step Application Process.
